These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a legal agreement between you and the developer of the Engraved mobile application (“Engraved”, “the app”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). They govern your access to and use of the app. Please read them carefully.

Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Engraved, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not download, install, or use the app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to form a binding contract) to use Engraved. If you use the app, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are able to enter into these Terms. If you use the app on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

License to use the app

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to install and use Engraved on a device that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial Scripture memorization and study.

You agree that you will not, and will not permit anyone else to:

copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the app, except as permitted by law;
reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, or attempt to derive its source code, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits;
rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise commercialize the app;
remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices in the app;
use the app in any unlawful manner or for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the app or interfere with any other party’s use of it; or
circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the app or features that restrict use or copying of content.

Scripture content

Engraved includes Bible text from public-domain translations, namely the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), the King James Version (KJV), and the World English Bible (WEB). This text is provided for personal study and memorization. While we take care to present it faithfully and verbatim from public-domain sources, we do not warrant that it is free from every error or omission, and it is not a substitute for an authoritative printed edition. You are responsible for verifying any text against a trusted source where accuracy is important to you.

Your content

Engraved lets you add your own verses and notes by reference (“your content”). Your content is stored locally on your device, and you retain any rights you have in it. You are solely responsible for your content and for ensuring you have the right to use it. Because your content is stored only on your device, we do not access, host, monitor, or back it up, and we are not responsible for any loss of it.

Engraved Plus, subscriptions, and billing

Engraved offers a free tier and an optional paid upgrade, Engraved Plus. Engraved Plus unlocks every curated verse pack and provides unlimited hearts in review. Additional benefits may be added over time.

Processing. All purchases are made and processed through Google Play Billing under your Google account and are subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Pricing. Current prices and available purchase options (which may include subscription and one-time options) are displayed in the app and in the Google Play Store at the time of purchase. Prices may vary by region and may change; any change applies only to future billing periods and will be disclosed before it takes effect.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. A one-time purchase, where offered, does not automatically renew.
Managing and cancelling. You can view, manage, or cancel a subscription at any time in the Google Play Store under your account’s subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access until then.
Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Google in accordance with the Google Play refund policies.

Intellectual property

The app, including its software, design, look and feel, text (other than the public-domain Scripture), graphics, and logos, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the license expressly granted above, these Terms do not transfer any right, title, or interest in the app to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Third-party services

Engraved relies on third-party services, including Google Play, Google Play Billing, Google Play Services, and RevenueCat, to provide certain features. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not endorse them.

Updates and availability

We may release updates, modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the app, or any particular feature, will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. You are responsible for installing updates needed for the app to function properly.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will meet your requirements, that it will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any data stored on your device will be preserved. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Because your data is stored only on your device, you are responsible for it, and uninstalling the app or clearing its data will remove it permanently. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 25. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the app. You may stop using Engraved and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate your license if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, the license granted to you ends, and you must stop using and remove the app. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the developer’s place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page, and material changes will be reflected in the app or its store listing. Your continued use of Engraved after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
